Stunning monochromatic serigraph in cool shades of blue, depicting a majestic Canadian landscape. Titled "First Tee - Banff," by a listed Canadian Artist, Vella Strand, and dated 1975. The only pieces of hers showing online now are being sold by a gallery for 10x more!
"Serigraphy is a fancy term for silkscreen printing, coming from 'seri,' which is Latin for 'silk,' and 'graphos,' which is Ancient Greek for 'writing.' .... Serigraphy came into its own in the 1960s with the advent of Pop Art and Op Art [and was used by] Artists such as Andy Warhol, Robert Rauschenberg, Josef Albers, Peter Max, and Richard Anuzkiewicz."
These two Serigraphs (the pair is listed separately in the shop) are adhered to the warm gray mat and will work in a standard 11x14 frame. They are being sold here unframed, but if you want help framing, I am happy to work with you to add that on as an additional cost. For example, it is shown in the later images with a gilt carved frame with plexi that looks amazing!
Overall Mat size: 11x14
