The prettiest smoky blue and white English transferware round compote by the beloved Spode Copeland, dating to March 1879! Imprinted markings on the underside. The pattern is Gray Delhi, aptly named, as the blue here is more of a smoky blue rather than the brighter blues of common transferware. The compote and blue pattern are in excellent antique condition. It originally had gold trim that has worn in most places, but overall it is in absolutely lovely condition for how old it is!
We'd use it to style some coral or a candle and matches on a console, use to stack macarons for a shower, or style in open shelves with other decor.
No chips or cracks, which is rare for a piece of this age.
Measures: 8.25" dia x 4" h
